Oride.Taxi FAQ

What is Oride.Taxi?

Oride.taxi is an e-hailing app that works with actual taxi drivers that are vetted to meet certain standards. This would mean better services from the taxi industry to you.

Where is Oride.Taxi from?

We are proudly a Malaysian company setup for the sole purpose of improving and enhancing the local legal taxis services to you.

Is Oride.Taxi in operations yet?

Yes, we are currently in full operations.

You mean there is a booking fee?

Yes, this has been a common practice traditionally when you book a taxi, there would be a RM2.00 booking fee. We are maintaining the same fees (which has not been changed for many years) so that it would not be an additional cost to you.

Then how is the charges for journey calculated?

Since we are operating using legal taxis, it is a regulation that we would have to use the taxi fare meter. However, should the authorities regulate this industry and allow for other means of calculation that is beneficial to you, we would gladly do so accordingly.

How do we pay for the journey?

As always you would be able to pay the fare at then end of your journey using cash. We are currently in the midst of working on other modes of payment such as credit/charge/debit cards. It will be available soon enough.

If I had an unpleasant journey, what should I do?

If your unpleasant journey is due to something that is deemed within the taxi drivers control then we would love to hear from you. Ie, smelly taxi, taxi in bad condition, driver who is not very corporative, etc. However if it is due to uncontrollable reasons such as traffic jams, we would be open to suggestions on how we can make it more pleasant for you in such situations. Likewise if you had a pleasant experience using our services, we would love to hear from you too.

Where is this service currently available at?

Oride.taxi is currently available in Klang Valley but would be extended to other major cities in Malaysia soon.
